| Documentation Anglo-Saxon Textiles (Owen-Crocker) Asssymetrical Twill Textiles 2/1 or 1/2 Tabby Weave- sometimes wool. most often linen 2/2 twill- usually wool, sometimes linen, used for garments. Broken Diamond or lozenge twills are also found, though they are rare examples of the finest textiles (Owen-Crocker, pg 293). Alderrman includes a 2 block twill on eight shafts, that simulates the broken diamond twill. Threading 1-3 repeated 4 times then 5-8 4 times and repeat across the cloth. For treadling see Alderrman pg 29. The weaving in progress right. The Cloak will be made of three 30" wide sections. The final product will be a rectangular cloak approximately 58" L and 90" wide. The construction reconstruct the rectangular cloaks worn in the 11th Century.
