  | A piece woven sideways means that if the piece were viewed on the loom it would be on it's side rather than straight up and down. This is used to create better curves and vertical straight lines.

  | When a tapestry is woven along the warp, the warp perpendicular to the design, as is normal . If the piece were viewed on the loom it would be right side up.
