Each of these textiles are held at the Victoria & Albert Museum Textile Study Room. The Museum has identified these textiles to be 5th-7th C Persian. Most files are labeled with the museum's catalog number for reference. I will be updating this page with notes as time allows, so check back often.

The wefts include undyed linen and wool in dark blue-green, tan and faded rose.
This piece is woven with the warps straight up and down as it is viewed here. As it is difficult to tell which way the design was intended to be placed, you can't tell if it was "woven on it's side".

The blue piece is woven sideways, whereas the pink piece is along the warp. This shows that both methods were used as early as the 5th Century.
