I enjoyed my 5th or 6th trip to The Original Re-enactors Market (TORM) in Coventry today! There are other markets that I prefer for fabric, but TORM does provide an opportunity to shop for a variety of kit. We only got a bit of fabric there (9.5 mtrs of a fabulous blue twill). Eldgrimr also bought a drinking horn, he finally found one he really liked. He also commissioned a wicker back pack that will be awesome for packing things around at events and will really round out his Viking look. Three bottles of Mead were also purchased, always a must have!
Finally Eldgrimr put down a deposit on a gorgeous Hunnish recurve bow that is a light enough draw that it is a challenge for me now, but one that I probably won’t “outgrow”. The plan is to share this bow for now and when he needs a heavier bow he can purchase another one, likely another style for himself! So I’ll be branching out to archery, which will give me something to do at events other than A&S. I doubt archery will become a more common practice for me at events, especially given the difficulties we’ve had in booking sites where we can do archery in ID! ![]()
