Thanks! I've order my supplies for the February Guild Activity. I don't plan on being overly active on the list either, as I want to get things done. But there are several workshops I want to do! I'm sure your dye stuff photos will be great!
Sorry it took so long to get back to you I so rarely get comments I'm not in the habit of checking. I need to have the site e-mail me when there are legit comments! :)

Congrats, J! I also saw the announcement that you have just joined the online guild - it arrived the day I left. Gah! I've decided to cut way back on my commitments this year, because I have a couple of big, new projects coming up. I hope to be back at the start of 2011, though; hope you have an awesome time there!

A gamp is when you use a selction of things in weaving. So in a colour gamp it's when you use a selection of colours from the colour wheel. Once this piece is woven I will be able to use it to decide what warp and weft colours to use in my weaving for SCA. I'm thinking shawls and material for hoods next! :)

Cool! Thanks I think I've got my mind wrapped around this now! Fortunately I'm only half way through the back heddle, so I don't have much to redo. I also have to figure out how wide it will actually be and recenter it in the heddle!
Would you believe that when threading the back heddle I noticed that I had the red stripe in the compulete and utterly wrong place! I threaded it in the heddle in the right spot and will just roll the threads onto the front bar, slide the threads off the back bar and back on in the right order then roll it all back onto the back bar. It means I'll have a lot of paper prepared for that back bar! :)
Thanks again for your help!

Hi J! Have a look at my post here. I think this diagram will help, especially. Your final epi is 1.5 times that of the heddles you use, so if you use the 10dpi heddles, you'll end up at 15epi. Thread two threads through each slot in the back heddle, and one thread through each hole. The same in the front heddle: two threads per slot, and one per hole. Making sure, of course, that the 'back hole' threads become 'front slot' threads, and one of the 'back slot' threads from each pair becomes the 'front hole' thread!

Have fun! :)

Cool! You're the first person to comment on my new blog! I always knew we were kindred weaving spirits, just didn't fully appreciate it until we independently decided to weave colour gamps around the same time! I'm still totally jelaous that yours is with yarn you spun and blended yourself! I decided I want a drum carder for christmas btw. I'm going to get back into spinning once I get my weaving to do list a bit shorter! :)
I follow your blog on my google reader, so technically I'm "on it" quite a lot. I'll definintely comment more often!
I've gotten a lot of response on ravelry and weavolution saying I should be able to weave it this way, everyone recommends that I just put lease sticks back in and be real careful when advancing the warp. Cross your fingers for me! :)

Hey, J! I was really pleased to see a comment from you on my blog the other day - and then again, a few days later! I thought it was so funny that we're both working on 'rainbow' projects, and more, that we'd both arranged our yarns in that circular form...

It sounds like you're settling well into your new home; I'm so glad! And do drop by my blog again sometime soon!

A.

(P.S> ooh, the back of that warp looks 'fun'. Lucky you! ;)
